The First Foreign Contribution to a Domestic Endowment Fund

The First Foreign Contribution to a Domestic Endowment Fund: Chinese businessman Zeng Runhao has supported the ENU Endowment Fund with a contribution of 50 million tenge.

As part of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University’s participation in the China International Education Exhibition Tour and the Study in Kazakhstan initiative in Beijing, a formal ceremony was held to mark the contribution to the university’s endowment fund by Chinese business representative Zeng Runhao. The event took place on April 11, 2026, and was included in the university’s official program.

Zeng Runhao became the first foreign contributor to the ENU Endowment Fund and one of the earliest examples of international partners supporting university endowments in Kazakhstan. The funds are planned to be allocated toward the implementation of the “ZENG Study-China Scholarship” grant program, aimed at strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and China in the fields of science and education.

This contribution reflects the growing partnership between ENU and the international community and contributes to expanding the university’s educational opportunities, including in the areas of academic mobility and the attraction of international students.
